October is Here!
During the month of October we want to BE THE CHURCH and DO THE MINISTRY!! That means we are challenging one another to PRAY fervently for CLBC…..To faithfully ATTEND the services & special events planned…..And to BRING OUR FRIENDS with us! Below is a list of events to place on your Calendar & to be involved in during this exciting month.
**SUN, OCT 7th – SPECIAL SPEAKERS – This Sunday we will be blessed by the Preaching of the former Pastor of CLBC, JIM EFAW, during the Worship Service at 10:15 AM. During the Evening Service at 6:00 PM, STEVE PETTIT, President of BJU will be Preaching. We will also have an excellent musical group providing several special numbers during the Evening Service. Please make it a priority to attend both services this Sunday.
**SUN, OCT 21st – FRIEND DAY 2018 – Enthusiastically reach out to your Friends, Family & others with an invitation to be your guest on OCT 21st. Friend Day will begin at 10:00 AM ( note the change in time) and will conclude with a delicious free lunch for all who attend at 11:30 AM. Your Friends will enjoy the wonderful music provided by the EVERSON FAMILY & the CROSS LANES CHRISTIAN SCHOOL CONCERT CHOIR. Ben Everson will be preaching a clear & compassionate Gospel message that morning. We are cancelling both Sunday School & the Evening Service in order to give ourselves wholly our Friend Day Outreach. PLEASE DON’T DELAY………..BEGIN NOW TO PRAY………PLAN TO ATTEND…… AND INVITE A FRIEND TO FRIEND DAY 2018!!!!
**MON – WED, OCT 22nd – 24th -FRESH GROWTH CONFERENCE – The BEN EVERSON FAMILY will be conducting this Conference each Evening at 7:00 PM. The music will stir your soul & the practical messages will challenge each of us to sincerely Walk with God in our daily lives. Tues Evening the Everson family will perform a full length CONCERT for us. Don’t miss these 3 days of spiritual refreshment at CLBC
Wed Evening Events
Tomorrow Evening AWANA is having a special activity. All AWANA clubbers are invited to attend the Milton CORN MAZE! Parents should bring there children & meet at the MILTON MIDDLE SCHOOL at 6:00 PM. The cost is $7.00 per person & you should bring a flashlight with you. If you have questions contact Shaun Shamblin at (304) 776-9410.
The Adults will continue our Bible study entitled “Majoring on the Minors” at 7:00 PM. This week we are in the book of Joel.
Prayer Requests
In addition to the events listed above please pray for Mark Jones. Mark was in a car accident yesterday. He broke his hand & may have done other damage to tendons & ligaments that could require surgery. Pray for those listed in the Prayer Bulletin including Darrell Ballard (cancer), Ashley Boggess (health needs), Ken Jenkins (cancer), Ann Neidlinger (health needs). Pray for the CLCS staff as they attend the WVCEA Conference this Thurs & Fri in Flatwoods, WV.
