In Psalm 46:1 we read “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” The Psalmist penned these words while Jerusalem was facing attack by the brutal Assyrian army. Although defeat & slavery seemed imminent, he knew that Jehovah would never forsake His people. He was counting on the Lord to be a personal & powerful refuge for Israel.
