For our encouragement from God’s Word today please read Mark 15: 42-47.
In this passage the story is told about the burial of Jesus. After Jesus died on the Cross for our sins a man named Joseph of Arimathea went to Pilate & asked for the body of Jesus. Joseph was a prominent member of the Jewish Sanhedrin. He had also opposed the trial & punishment of Jesus. After receiving the body, Joseph took Jesus, wrapped His body in burial clothing & placed Him in a Tomb. After putting Him in the Tomb he rolled a large stone against the door to secure the grave of Jesus. At that moment my friends, all seemed lost – but it wasn’t!
“Death could not keep it’s prey – Jesus my Savior. He tore the bars away – Jesus my Lord. And…..Up from the grave He arose!!”
Today, as we eagerly anticipate Easter Sunday, let us be thankful that the same Jesus who died on the Cross & was buried in a borrowed Tomb is Alive today! Thank you Jesus for your Amazing Grace & Matchless Love!
