For our encouragement from God’s Word today please read Psalm 56.
The sweet Psalmist of Israel often found himself in frightening situations. In his youth he fought off wild animals as a Shepherd in the fields & also faced down a giant named Goliath. As an adult he encountered life & death situations on several occasions. As David penned these words he was captive in the Philistine town of Gath facing almost certain execution. In verse 3 he acknowledged his fear, but immediately stated the cure for fear – TRUST IN GOD!
We are all human & because of that we are often fearful. In times like these we cannot afford to have a “Passive” Faith. Instead our Faith must be “Active.” We must make a decision everyday to get out of bed…..spend time in the Bible & Prayer……and place our TRUST IN God!
