For your encouragement from God’s Word today please read 1 Timothy 4.
In 1 Tim 4:8 we read “Bodily exercise profits a little, but Godliness is profitable for all things.” Some have interpreted this verse to mean that taking care of our bodies is a waste of time. That is a wrong understanding of this teaching. While the Bible makes it clear that Spiritual health must be the priority for a Disciple of Jesus, it in no way diminishes our physical health & well being. In fact 1 Corinthians 6:19 tells us that “Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit.” Since God created us Body, Soul & Spirit – each part of us is vital.
During these days when we are staying at home & keeping our distance from others don’t neglect to care for yourself emotionally & physically. Keep in contact with friends & loved ones through the internet or on the phone & be sure to get some physical exercise. How we feel physically often has an impact on our whole being. So, while the weather is nice, if you are able, go outside & take a walk. Get your heart pumping! Take care of God’s temple. You will feel better & think more positively.
APPLICATION: How has God spoken to you through His Word today? How will you apply these truths to your life?
